Job Description

We are looking for a creative and proficient in all aspects of food preparation, Executive chef. This position will oversee all activity in the kitchen, train personnel, plan menus, oversee product purchasing and manage culinary budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities.
  • Modify menus or create new ones that meet quality standards.
  • Estimate food requirements and food/ labor costs.
  • Supervise kitchen staff’s activities.
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
  • Recruit and manage kitchen staff.
  • Rectify arising problems or complaints.
  • Give prepared plates the “final touch”.
  • Perform administrative duties.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Keep time and payroll records.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Job Requirements

  • For foreigners only.
  • Has formal training qualifications in culinary arts
  • ​Has experience working in 5 starred hotels and/or worked in high quality restaurants
  • Experience with restaurant kitchen start-up/ pre-opening from empty space
  • SOP for kitchen policies and procedures for all processes including hygiene, food handling and storage and safety.
  • Experience with sourcing, qualifying and managing suppliers in Vietnam.
  • Has developed menus and managed food costs elements to target KPI.
  • Likes innovation and being creative with food, taste, texture and colour.
  • Is hands-on in the kitchen operation, thriving on ensuring a high-quality food experience. 
  • Managed small ​to medium kitchen operations.
  • Enjoys learning and sharing knowledge, developing team skills and competencies. 
  • Actively seeks feedback and criticism to improve customer experience. 
  • Open to new ideas and encourage it within the team.
  • Has experience with a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines.
